“It’s all easy.”

- John Schultheis

On Monday you learned about the Law of Least Effort. When we live in harmony with this law, life can and should be easy. It’s a strange phenomenon but most people have created an environment where life is supposed to be hard. In fact, if they find something to be easy, they think there is something wrong. Some people will even take a situation that is easy by nature and make it overly complicated and hard. Not Me!

There are three components to the Law of Least Effort. The first is acceptance. You must accept that things in your life are as they should be. They may not be what you want, but they are there because of the Law of Cause and Effect. Everything that happened in the past led to this moment creating this situation. No matter how hard you try, you can’t change this moment. You make your life hard by trying to change the unchangeable.

The second component is responsibility. Responsibility means not to blame any thing or anyone, including yourself, for the way things are. Once you accept things as they are, you have the ability to create a response that moves you towards your goals and wants.

Lastly, you must practice defenselessness. This does not mean to stand by and be beaten and abused. It does mean to stop defending your point of view. When you defend your point of view, you create conflict which by nature is hard. When you stop defending you create an environment where you can experience the world around you, which is easy.

Do you accept things as they are or
do you try and force the present to be different than what it is?

Do you respond to situations or react to them?

Do you create conflict by
defending a point of view?

Your life can be easy. You can live in harmony with the Law of Least Effort but it takes a decision on your part.
